Anti-Bribery Certification

Build business integrity through independent assessment of anti-bribery policies, governance, risk-based due diligence and operational controls.

The Ethical Trade Alliance (ETA) Anti-Bribery Standard addresses prevention, identification and remediation of bribery in an organisation’s own operations and supply chains—including public officials, private-sector bribery, facilitation payments and improper payments through intermediaries.

Blue Wolf Certifications conducts ETA audits exclusively. ETA makes certification decisions and issues certificates.

What is ETA Anti-Bribery Certification?

Independent assessment against the ETA Anti-Bribery Standard, which sets requirements for policies, governance, due diligence, controls, remediation and transparency in operations and supply chains.

Is ETA Anti-Bribery Certification the same as ISO 37001?
No. ETA Anti-Bribery is a separate standard and certification programme. Any alignment with internationally recognised principles does not make it ISO 37001 certification.
Does the standard cover suppliers and agents?
Yes. It requires risk-based due diligence of operations and suppliers, including agents, intermediaries, customs brokers, distributors and other high-risk relationships.
What anti-bribery controls are inspected?
Examples include written third-party agreements, detailed invoices, verified payees, cash-payment exceptions, gifts and hospitality approvals, training, advances and unusual payment patterns.
Are whistleblowing arrangements required?
Yes. Accessible and safe reporting channels, including anonymous reporting and protection from retaliation, are required.
How are high-risk suppliers handled?
The standard requires high-risk internal activities and suppliers to undergo appropriate third-party or on-site audits or recognised anti-bribery certification, with corrective action as necessary.
Who issues the certificate?
Blue Wolf performs independent ETA audits. ETA makes the certification decision and issues the certificate.
Does certification guarantee legal compliance or eliminate bribery?
No. It provides independent verification of specified management controls within the agreed scope; it does not guarantee compliance with all laws or eliminate risk.
Can I buy the standard?
Yes. Contact Blue Wolf for current pricing and purchasing arrangements for the ETA Anti-Bribery Standard.
Which edition is used?
This page was prepared using Version 1.0, February 2026. Verify the latest ETA edition before publication.
